Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson have been at the center of romance rumors while promoting their new film The Naked Gun.
Newsweek reached out to Anderson and Neeson’s representatives for comment on Wednesday via email outside regular working hours.
The Context
Anderson, 58 and Neeson, 73, both star in The Naked Gunthe newest addition to the Naked Gun franchise. In the movie, the actors play love interests.
During the film’s U.K. premiere in London on July 22, Anderson planted a kiss on Neeson’s cheek, which fueled speculation.

What To Know
The pair appeared on the Today show on Tuesday, and co-host Craig Melvin asked the question on everyone’s mind.
“What’s the deal here? You’re both single right now. There’s clearly chemistry on display throughout this film,” he said. “Are you two an item?”
“Craig! Craig,” Neeson said.
“What?” asked Anderson, before teasing: “I don’t understand the question.”
“Don’t lie on the cam—” Melvin began, as Neeson explained: “I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry—as two actors.”
“Yeah,” the Baywatch star said with a smile.
“It’s like, ‘Oh, this is nice. Let’s not mold this. Let’s just let it breathe,'” Neeson added. “And that’s what we did.”
“So that’s what we’re doing right now, we’re watching the beginning of the breathing of a budding relationship. OK!” Melvin said.
Prior to concluding the segment, the television personality urged the duo to “come back when it’s official.”
Anderson has had four marriages, to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, singer Kid Rock, poker player Rick Salomon and bodyguard Dan Hayhurst. She and Salomon wed in 2007 and again in 2014 and divorced twice. Most recently, the former Playboy Playmate of the Month and Hayhurst split in 2022.
Neeson was married to The Parent Trap actress Natasha Richardson from 1994 until her death in 2009 at the age of 45. Richardson died of a brain injury following a skiing accident in Quebec, Canada.
In October, the Taken actor had sworn off dating. “No, in a word,” he told People at the time. “I’m past all that.”
That same month, he praised Anderson to the outlet. “I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with,” Neeson said of their time on set in an interview with People. “I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific in the film.”
Anderson, meanwhile, echoed similar sentiments about him. “He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness and depth of experience,” she said of Neeson. “It was an absolute honor to work with him.”
What People Are Saying
An anonymous source reportedly close to The Naked Gun told People of Anderson and Neeson on July 29: “It’s a budding romance in the early stages. It’s sincere, and it’s clear they’re smitten with each other.”
