A bride has gained traction online after sharing the voice note she sent to her best friend after her very first date with her now-husband—the internet has applauded the power of manifestation.
Germaine Harney (@germainemurraymusic), 28, a wedding and events singer from Kent, U.K., posted a clip of herself and her husband, Sam Harney, 30, flashing their wedding bands on their big day, alongside a four-year-old voice note she sent to her best friend shortly after meeting him. The video has since racked up over 34,000 views.
“Like, obviously I’m buzzing. I can’t actually believe it. I’m honestly obsessed with him. He’s gonna be my mother f****** husband,” she told her best friend Sam in the message.
Looking back on how it all began, Germaine said she and Sam met on the dating app Hinge. They had been chatting for three days when they arranged to meet for a coffee in a shopping center.

She recalled spotting him waiting by the flower stall: she remembered thinking, “He’s so much more handsome than in his pictures.” After grabbing coffee, it took just 20 minutes of conversation for her to feel certain he was the one she’d marry.
They connected over shared interests in music, politics, and family.
“I even had a ring on that was the same as his nan’s engagement ring and he took a picture and sent it to his mom,” she said. “He’s just so smart, kind, loving and caring, supportive, charming and a little bit crazy. Literally the perfect man in my eyes.”
Germaine said she remembered feeling “so excited” when sending the voice note. She had been heading to dinner with her best friend and sent it to explain why she’d be late—caught up after what turned out to be a life-changing date.
The early days of their relationship were a whirlwind. “Six days after we met he told me he loved me and asked me to be his girlfriend,” she said. “He met all my family and I met his within the first week.” The two spent nearly every day together for the first seven weeks, but then Sam got cold feet and ended things.
A few weeks later, he called Germaine to explain what had happened, and the couple got back together. Within a year, they had bought a house and were expecting their first child.
The pair got engaged in December 2023 at Sam’s parents’ house in London. He had planned to propose at a restaurant, but decided against it, thinking it wouldn’t be private enough for Germaine, who preferred something low-key.
“It was lovely! And the ring was exactly what I’d dreamed of,” she said.
Germaine also revealed that, while single, she had written a list of all the qualities she wanted in a future partner—including specifics like his appearance and favorite sports.
“I showed him the list not too long ago and it’s just a list about him before I even met him,” she said. “I think I ‘manifested’ him in a way but I knew what I wanted and deserved in a partner so that’s what I was looking for when he came along!”
The video struck a chord with TikTok viewers, many of whom resonated with the idea of manifesting love.
“Full circle moment right here,” said Bailey.
“Wait I say this and then this doesn’t happen,” added Amelia.
“Manifestation at its finest! Congratulations,” wrote Janay.
“LOVE this. Wishing you a wonderful life together,” shared another user.
