Then a second, then a third, and so on. It&#8217;s been about seven years since the fashion for frescoes bearing the image of club icons took off in the city and it&#8217;s thriving. From the city&#8217;s disinherited angel Trent Alexander-Arnold to the late Diogo Jota, including the indispensable Steven Gerrard, Ian Rush and Kenny Dalglish, legends are everywhere around the Reds stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Contacted by <span class=\"text-italic\">20 Minutes<\/span>the artist Paul Curtis took advantage of the great boom in this fashion at a time when life was not doing him any favors. \u201cI lost my job in 2015, then I started painting in 2016, but I only started professionally in 2017.\u201d Today, he is, with John Culshaw, one of the two pioneers of mural painting in the Anfield district, and tells us about the world of the legendary Liverpool FC frescoes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Walking around the Anfield district before PSG&#8217;s Champions League quarter-final second leg against the Reds means taking the risk of coming face to face with a giant portrait of a Liverpool player.
