While 18 of them had been imprisoned for having participated in the violence that occurred at the end of the meeting, three were released this Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The three men, sentenced to three months in prison, left Al Arjat 2 prison, northeast of Rabat, aboard a gendarmerie vehicle to go to a police station near Sal\u00e9, before being released. At the exit of the police station, the three smiling supporters were welcomed by members of the Senegalese embassy. A Frenchman of Algerian origin was also released on Saturday after serving three months in prison for throwing a bottle of water during this final which ended in chaos.<\/p>\n<p>On the evening of the final, January 18 in Rabat, the referee awarded a penalty to Morocco at the very end of the match, shortly after denying a goal to Senegal. Furious at this decision, several Senegalese players left the field and the final descended into total confusion. Senegalese supporters tried to invade the pitch and threw projectiles towards the pitch.<\/p>\n<p>Our file on the African Cup<\/p>\n<p>The Senegalese players finally returned to the field, Moroccan striker Brahim Diaz missed his penalty and Senegal won 1-0 on a goal from Pape Gueye during extra time.
