Manchester City did not tremble in their late Premier League match. Traveling to Burnley, Pep Guardiola’s men won by the smallest of margins (0-1), a valuable success which allows them to regain control of the championship at the end of a crucial evening in the title race.<\/p>\n
The Skyblues struck very early. From the 5th minute, J\u00e9r\u00e9my Doku perfectly served Erling Haaland, still decisive. The Norwegian striker did not miss the opportunity and scored the only goal of the match. A rapid advance that City then knew how to manage with mastery, without really putting themselves in danger.<\/p>\n
This short success, however, is enough for the happiness of the Mancunians. Thanks to these three points, City joins Arsenal with 70 points and an identical goal difference (+37). The difference is now made in the number of goals scored: 66 for City against 63 for the Gunners. An accounting detail which places the reigning champions at the top of the rankings.<\/p>\n
The fight for the English crown therefore promises to be unbreathable until the end between the two big names. Every point, every goal, every mistake could now weigh very heavily in the final sprint.<\/p>\n
For Burnley, on the other hand, the evening had a bitter taste. Beaten at home, the Clarets went into an eighth match without a win and saw their fate definitively sealed. Penultimate in the standings, they will play in the Championship next season.<\/p>\n
On the one hand, City dreams of a new coronation. On the other hand, Burnley is leaving the elite. Two opposing destinies at the end of a match with major consequences.<\/p>\n
