Nine years later, the pain remains acute. Guest in a British podcast, Emmanuel Ebou\u00e9 spoke again about his broken relationship with his children. Since his divorce in 2017, the former Ivory Coast international has seen his world collapse.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A frozen situation since the divorce<\/h2>\n

The breaking point therefore dates back to 2017, the year of his divorce. Since then, the former Galatasaray player explains having been completely cut off from his children.<\/p>\n

\u00ab I don’t have any recent photos of them. When I ask their mother, she refuses<\/em> \u201c, he laments. A situation which led him to make a radical decision: to avoid going to England, for fear of not being able to see them.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Absent for the signing of his son at Chelsea<\/h2>\n

It was in this context that he did not attend a remarkable event: the signing of his son Mathis, aged 17, at Chelsea.<\/p>\n

\u00ab I’m very sad, I wasn’t there when he signed. I haven’t had contact with him for almost five years.<\/em> \u201c, he confides.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A lack that he feels deeply, he who would logically like to support his son in the beginnings of his professional career.<\/p>\n

A brutal fall for Emmanuel Ebou\u00e9<\/h2>\n

Beyond the family bond, divorce also had significant material consequences. \u201c I lost everything<\/em> \u00bb, he admits, evoking houses and property acquired during his prolific career that have disappeared.<\/p>\n

In the past, the former Ivory Coast international had already spoken of deep discomfort, going so far as to speak of suicidal thoughts. The help he received following the media coverage of his case, particularly from his former club Galatasaray, was therefore not enough.<\/p>\n
