England could have 7 teams in the Champions League!

While France is lagging in the UEFA index, everything is going well for the English who could very quickly secure five places for the next Champions League.

With Liverpool and Arsenal in the Champions League, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest in the Europa League and finally Crystal Palace in the Europa Conference League, the Premier League is well represented on the European scene. Even to the point that England is at the top of the UEFA index, well ahead of Spain. And English statisticians have already made a very impressive calculation, especially when you are French. Note that if one of the five English clubs still qualified in the three European competitions signs a draw, then next season it is the top five in the Premier League who will directly qualify for the Champions League, without having to go through the play-offs. Given the teams still involved, it is difficult to see how the English could miss this objective.

The Premier League in force in Europe

Currently, it is the top four in the Premier League who have a ticket for the Champions League. And based on the current standings, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Aston Villa are in position to qualify, but Liverpool will also inherit a place in the CL if fifth place qualifies. And as an English journalist points out, the Premier League could even have seven clubs in the Champions League in 2026-2027 with a specific scenario. If Liverpool win the Champions League and Aston Villa win the Europa League, and both clubs finish outside the top 5 in the Premier League, then there would be seven different clubs.
