It is therefore in this landscape as beautiful as it is dangerous that David Parrish died last weekend. This Scottish ultra-trailer was trying to beat the speed record on this Cape Wrath Trail, which he completed completely independently. A week before taking part in this dizzying challenge, he explained a little about what awaited him on Instagram.
A prize pool for mountain rescuers
“Cape Wrath Trail, unassisted. (Departure) April 2 around 8:10 a.m. About 362 kilometers, 11,481 m of elevation gain (if all goes as planned), Parrish explained. I considered all possible weather conditions while remaining optimistic and light-hearted. I fully expect this to be by far the most demanding undertaking of my life, both physically and mentally. »
David Parrish had started this race a few days after having his bachelor party (and before, therefore, his wedding). He took part in this incredible challenge to support the Scottish Mountain Rescue by launching a fundraiser. This Friday, more than £30,000 had been raised (around 35,000 euros).
