257 kilometers and 33 hills, this is what awaits the runners taking part in the Amstel Gold Race 2026 on Sunday. On the Dutch classic, many difficulties will have to be negotiated by the peloton, on narrow and winding roads between Maastricht and Berg en Terblijt.

The profile of the Amstel Gold Race 2026
The start will be given in Maastricht then the course will be set for Sittard. In the second part of the race, the most difficult mountains will rise before the runners. We think of the Loorberg, the Gulperbergweg or even the Keutenberg (slopes of 22% in places).
Two kilometers from the finish, victory could well be decided in the Cauberg. The punchers will have the advantage given the profile of the race.
The favorites of the Amstel Gold Race 2026
Certainly, Tadej Pogacar, Paul Seixas, Mathieu van der Poel, Tom Pidcock and Wout Van Aert will not be there, but Remco Evenepoel and Mattias Skjelmose, winner last year, are arriving with long teeth. Among the French who have the best chance of doing well, we find Romain Grégoire, who appreciates this type of classic, Axel Laurance, Kévin Vauquelin and Benoît Cosnefroy, 3rd in the Flèche Brabançonne this week.
Matteo Jorgenson, Ben Healy, Mauro Schmid, Alex Aranburu, Julian Alaphilippe, among others, will be among the outsiders.
