The bond between the two men goes beyond professional admiration: Scott has in fact revealed that they have a very strong personal relationship, Henry having even called him on FaceTime before his marriage to Kate, who works alongside the Frenchman on the Champions League broadcast on CBS Sports. This relationship led Scott to offer his world-class coaching services in case Henry ever decided to lace up the gloves.
Addressing Action NetworkScott said: “Should Thierry Henry, with his new physique, consider a boxing match? Absolutely, because, even without that figure, he had the necessary mental strength, what it takes to be someone capable of competing at a high level. When we look at his new physique, when I talk to him about it, he tells me that he has reduced his sugar consumption. That’s really what he dedicated himself to. He also wants everyone to reduce their sugar intake.
“I was just discussing this with him the other day, and he said, ‘Malik, just try it for a month, or two, and before you know it, you’ll feel better.’ And he’s really into it. And it paid off for him, because you see his physique, he’s in good shape. And I believe that with his mental toughness and everything he had to overcome to become who he is today, that’s what it would take to become a fighter, and I believe Henry has those qualities to get there. Not just in boxing, but in any sport he chose. If Thierry Henry was interested in boxing and needed my help, I would be there for him, faster than Superman can change his costume. Without a doubt, I would do it and I would help him in this way.
