Arsenal target defensive prospect in Brazil
Always looking for young profiles with high potential, Arsenal would have checked the name of Mohamed Kone Zie to strengthen its defensive sector in the medium term. Only 18 years old, the player already impresses with his maturity, his reading of the game and his quality in duels. Gunners recruiters regularly follow his performances with Palmeiras, a club recognized for its ability to nurture South American talent.
A profile that matches Arteta’s project
In the strategy put in place by Mikel Arteta, the recruitment of young players capable of integrating into a long-term project is a priority. The young Ivorian talent ticks several boxes: physically strong, comfortable in restarting and with a good sense of placement. His profile is reminiscent of that of modern defenders capable of participating in the construction of the game, an essential asset in Arsenal’s playing system.
A transfer still far from being concluded
If the interest is real, no official offer has yet been made. Palmeiras does not intend to sell off its young talent, and several European clubs are also said to be on board. Arsenal could, however, accelerate in the coming weeks to get ahead of this promising issue.
A nugget to follow closely
Mohamed Kone Zie could well become one of the next South American talents to join the Premier League. In the meantime, the defender continues his progress in Brazil, under the watchful eye of European recruiters. His contract ends in 2028 and his release clause amounts to 100 million euros.
