After his good performance against Arsenal in the round of 16 of the Champions League, Christian Kofane is the talk of the next transfer window. Still in the sights of Real Madrid, the striker seems closer to a departure than ever.
Christian Kofane will be entitled to his transfer window this summer. The 19-year-old Cameroonian center forward from Bayer Leverkusen caught the attention of Arsenal after their double confrontation in March, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Closely followed by some English big names, he also remains in the sights of Real Madrid. The Merengue are looking to increase their squad in front of the opposing goal and Kofane could well be a perfect player in Arbeloa’s rotation. You still have to be ready to pay the tidy sum that Bayer asks for, between 60 and 70 million euros.
A young person to progress but already ready for a new challenge
If Christian Kofane attracts so much interest from English clubs, it is because his profile corresponds perfectly to the Premier League. Fast and powerful, he should have no trouble adapting to the pace of the English championship. He remains in search of a benchmark season. Currently, he has 7 goals and 8 assists in 39 games in all competitions with Leverkusen this season.
On the other hand, he knows Spain well. Before arriving in Germany, the young Cameroonian played at Albacete Balompié and was decisive in almost every other match (8 goals and 1 assist in 20 matches). Real Madrid would perhaps be an opportunity for him to reveal himself more as a player in an experienced locker room hungry for results.
