There will be 9 teams considered as WorldTeams on this classic, namely Lotto-Intermarché, Soudal Quick-Step, Lidl-Trek, Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, Team Jayco AlUla, Team Picnic PostNL, NSN Cycling Team, Bahrain Victorious and Alpecin-Premier Tech. The peloton will cross the Westerscheldetunnel (Western Scheldt Tunnel), which extends for 6.6 km, and will head towards Kruinigen and Essen. The roads will then be open to the wind, particularly in Zeeland.

The peloton will arrive in Belgium via Huijbergen then it will head towards Kalmthout, Hoogstraten and Brecht going to the paved sector of Sin-Jobsesteenweg. There, runners will discover the Schoten circuit, over 17.2 kilometers. 1,700 meters of very flat cobblestones will have to be negotiated. They will follow the Albert Canal 6.5 kilometers from the finish, at Churchilllaan.
