The ranking of the 5th stage

Friday afternoon, around Eibar, Paul Seixas (Decathlon CMA CGM) continued his march forward, both in his career and on this Tour of the Basque Country 2026. The 19-year-old Frenchman, Yellow Jersey since the first day, once again shone on the queen stage of this edition.

Paul Seixas crushes the competition

Escaping with Florian Lipowitz (RedBull – Bora-Hansgrohe) 23 kilometers from the finish, the Lyonnais consolidated his first place in the general classification thanks to his victory ahead of the German, in the sprint. This is his 3rd stage victory on this Itzulia.

On Saturday, he could become the first Frenchman to win the first WorldTour stage race in 19 years (Christophe Moreau). That’s just his age. He will have to tame the rain and the descents to achieve this victory.
