An old familiar could soon replace Mikel Arteta: a change of coach at Arsenal seems to be getting closer

Under contract with Como until 2028, Cesc Fabregas was announced last summer on the bench of RB Leipzig, then, more recently, that of Chelsea, where he has already played as a player.

For its part, Arsenal remains six points ahead of City at the top of the English championship despite its home defeat against Bournemouth (1-2). The Skyblues, however, have a game in hand, and next weekend will see the highly anticipated clash between the two title contenders at the Etihad Stadium.

After the home loss to the Cherries, Arteta strongly criticized his squad on TNT Sports : “It was a real snub today. Now it’s a matter of seeing what reaction we’re going to show. (…) We did a lot of strange things today, I would say. We were far from our level. »

Before this shock, the Gunners will play the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Sporting CP. The first leg, in Lisbon, ended with a 1-0 victory thanks to a late goal from German striker Kai Havertz. In the event of qualification, Arsenal will challenge the winner of the clash between Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona.
