These legal developments come after the termination of Partey’s five-year contract with Arsenal. Arriving at the Emirates Stadium in 2020 for a check for around £45 million, he left the Premier League club last June to sign with Villarreal. Despite this legal procedure, the 32-year-old midfielder remains active: he has played 26 matches with the “Yellow Submarine” and is expected to represent his country at the World Cup this summer.
He did not attend a previous hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where his legal representative announced his intention to formally contest the charges on Monday.
