Alex Manninger has died. The former Austrian goalkeeper lost his life this Thursday, April 16 in a tragic road accident near Salzburg. According to reports, his vehicle was hit by a train at an unsecured level crossing.
Austrian international on 33 occasions, he experienced a long career which led him to prestigious clubs like Arsenal (1997-2002), Juventus (2008-2012) and Liverpool (2016-2017). He retired from football in 2017.
When the news was announced, the RB Salzburgwhose colors he wore between 2005 and 2006, paid tribute to him. The Austrian club expressed its deep sadness and offered his condolences to his family and loved ones.
