This new setback adds to an already complex season for Rodri, who missed a large part of the first half of the exercise due to a hamstring problem. While he had just returned to his best level after a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament suffered last season, this groin injury represents a new frustrating obstacle for the former Atlético de Madrid player.
Guardiola’s lineup problems are further compounded by absences in defence: Ruben Dias, still recovering from his ankle injury, will also miss the match against Burnley, forcing the Catalan coach to reshuffle his rearguard as the Citizens aim for top spot in the Premier League.
