William Saliba forfeits the rally, a new one to replace him

A very big blow for Didier Deschamps and his staff. This Sunday, March 22, the French Football Federation (FFF) announced the withdrawal of William Saliba for the first rally of the year. An announcement made just a few minutes after the League Cup final lost by Arsenal against Manchester City (0-2)… and which may come as a surprise. Indeed, the central defender played the entire clash, he who suffers from his left ankle.

Maxence Lacroix to replace him

A new kid will therefore go to Clairefontaine this Monday morning to prepare for the American tour of the French team. Maxence Lacroix, who is having an excellent season under the colors of Crystal Palace, will experience his first minutes with the Blues. The latter will fly to the United States on Tuesday to play two matches against Brazil, Thursday March 26 in Foxborough (4 p.m. local time, 9 p.m. French time) and Sunday March 29 against Colombia in Landover (3 p.m. local time, 9 p.m. French time). For his part, William Saliba will have to remain on leave for a minimum period of ten days.
