Gabriel forfeits, defenses in ruins and another blow for Arsenal!

Hard blow before this highly anticipated shock. Brazil will have to do without Gabriel for the international gathering. Injured, the Arsenal defender is officially out and will notably miss the match against the French team scheduled for this Thursday, March 26 at 9 p.m.

An absence which does not go unnoticed, as the player is a key element of the Seleção… but also of Arsenal. And the timing couldn’t be worse. Already deprived of William Saliba on the French side, the match lost one of its most promising defensive duels. The Blues defender also withdrew, replaced by Maxence Lacroix (Crystal Palace), called up for the occasion.

Arsenal defenseless and a gala match that loses its glitter

This double blow also impacts Arsenal, which sees its titular central hinge completely decimated. A real problem for the Gunners, just one day after their defeat in the EFL Cup final against Manchester City (0-2). This defensive pair represented one of the pillars of the London club’s solidity this season.

Beyond the clubs, it’s also the show that takes a hit. The gala match between Brazil and France was to offer very high-level opposition, particularly in the defensive axis. Ultimately, both selections will have to deal with alternative solutions.

A frustrating scenario for all the players… and for the supporters, deprived of a duel which promised to be explosive.
