Samir Nasri: Deschamps gave him a warning!

During his career, Samir Nasri crossed paths with Didier Deschamps in the French team, during the first years of the 1998 world champion’s mandate. The former Arsenal player subsequently revealed that he had received a warning from the coach and it turned out that the latter had been right.

In 2013, Samir Nasri officially decided to end his international career at just 25 years old. A huge waste for the former playerABOUTwho was often criticized and who had more than complicated relationships with certain journalists. The one who is now a consultant for the Canal Football Club couldn’t necessarily take the criticism (fair or not).

“Didier Deschamps told me the same thing”

In an interview given to West France last October, Samir Nasri had been questioned about a sentence from Laurent Blanc. The former coach of Blues had said about him: “Samir did not understand that the press was a fight he could not win. » Obviously, the former coach of the team France had not been the only one to warn the player passing by Manchester City. “And he’s not the only one. Before our relations became conflictual, Didier Deschamps told me the same thing. It was in 2012, after the match against England (where Nasri celebrated his goal by insulting a journalist in the press box, with his index finger on his mouth). And they are right, because journalists are corporate after all (he smiles). It gets carried away very quickly. A recent example: Luis Enrique. He began with a conflictual relationship with the press, which, at one point, ganged up against him. Then, the results turned opinion around. »

Samir Nasri finally retired in 2020

And Samir Nasri had therefore decided to retire internationally in 2013, in particular for his complicated relations with the press, he however continued a little longer in club. The former attacking midfielderABOUT had hung up his boots for good in 2020 after a fairly short last spell (eight matches), on the side ofAnderlecht.
