F1 Japanese Grand Prix: Results and rankings (manufacturers/drivers)

The young Formula 1 prodigy, Andrea Kim Antonelli (Mercedes) scored his second consecutive victory in two Grands Prix, at the age of 19, on Sunday morning at Suzuka (Japan).

Antonelli does it again

The pole sitter was above the rest and finished with a comfortable lead of 13 seconds over Oscar Piastri (McLaren). He took advantage of the intervention of the safety car after a complicated start to the race (he went down to 6th place) and he took sole lead of the Formula world championship, 15 days after the first victory of his career in China. He is the youngest world championship leader in F1 history. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) completes the podium.

On the French side, Pierre Gasly finished 7th, Esteban Ocon 10th and Isack Hadjar 12th. Now, it’s time for a truce after the cancellation of the Middle Eastern Grands Prix (Bahrain and Saudi Arabia).
