As usual, OM has changed a lot this winter. The recruitments of Himad Abdelli, Tochukwu Nnadi, Ethan Nwaneri and Quinten Timber are not satisfactory.
During the last winter transfer window, OM once again made numerous changes. The Marseille club has notably recorded numerous departures, ranging from unwanted lofters to young talents with high market value. Following these sales, Medhi Benatia then made the decision to recruit and four players joined the ranks of OM: Himad Abdelli (SCO Angers), Tochukwu Nnadi (Zulte Waregem), Ethan Nwaneri (Arsenal, loan) and Quinten Timber (Feyenoord).
OM made a mistake this winter
However, if, on paper, this transfer window seemed successful, most of these recruits are not satisfactory. Indeed, Himad Abdelli and Tochukwu Nnadi play very little and are not convincing during their entries. If Ethan Nwaneri started his adventure better, with a goal against RC Lens, the English winger is also in difficulty with very little playing time. OM seem to have made casting errors this winter.
Quinten Timber as the only satisfaction
Only Quinten Timber brings satisfaction. Recruited for just 4.5 million euros, the Dutch midfielder has established himself as one of OM’s best midfielders. He has a series of starts under Habib Beye and displays a very good level of play. This success clearly does not compensate for the mistakes made by OM this winter. The Marseille club has, it seems, missed its winter transfer window…
