After the cycle paths, the city will have… running trails!

Joggers rather than cars. This is the decision of the City of Paris this April 1st. Before leaving town hall, Anne Hidalgo in fact adopted one last proposal that went unnoticed during the last Paris Council (some too happy that it was her last, others at the buffet of her going away party): the creation of running tracks in the streets of the capital.

From now on, next to the bus lanes and cycle paths, there will be lines reserved for joggers. A decision taken so that runners leave the sidewalks where, too often, they face pedestrians, almost trip over their feet in a dog leash or zigzag among children on scooters.

More joggers, fewer parking spaces

Good news for running enthusiasts, less so for motorists. Because where can you find space in the capital? On the road or in the parking lot. These running tracks will therefore reduce the number of parking spaces, but also turn two-way streets into one-way streets.

Emmanuel Grégoire did not expect to have to manage this file, unlike the negotiation with PSG for the Parc des Princes. But on this April 1st, let him (and motorists) rest assured: it’s just a joke 🙂
