The title holders will be there for the semi-finals of the Women’s Champions League.
After dominating the first leg (3-1) at home, the Gunners managed their lead this evening on the pitch at Stamford Bridge. Solid in defense, the Arsenal players lost 1-0, but will see the last four of the competition. Stina Blackstenius (81st) thought she would open the score at the end of the match, but her headed goal was ultimately refused for an offside position. In added time, it was the German Sjoeke Nüsken (90+4th) who saved the honor of the Blues in front of their home crowd.
Second team qualified for the semi-finals, Arsenal will cross paths with OL Lyonnes or VfL Wolfsburg.
