Arsenal, solid leader of the Premier League, experienced elimination in the FA Cup in the quarter-finals. The Londoners were beaten 2-1 by Southampton, currently 7th in the Championship.
At Southampton, Arsenal dominated the proceedings but were feverish in defense. This is how the Londoners conceded the opener with a goal from Ross Stewart in the 35th minute. They certainly ended up equalizing thanks to the inevitable Viktor Gyökeres (68th), who entered in the 60th, but were once again surprised at the end of the match and a success from Shea Charles in the 85th.
Ten days after losing the League Cup final against Manchester City (2-0), the Gunners only have the Champions League and the championship to play.
