Arsenal and Trossard beaten by Bournemouth, a boon for Manchester City

Arsenal suffered a very rare defeat at home in the Premier League, this Saturday against Bournemouth (2-1), enough to revive the title hope for their runner-up Manchester City with six days remaining. The Londoners certainly remain nine points ahead of Manchester City, but the team Pep Guardiola have played two games less and host the Gunners next weekend at the Etihad.

Concretely, the Citizens (2nd with 61 points) can come back to the level of the Gunners (70 pts) if they beat Chelsea on Sunday, Crystal Palace in their late match (date still undetermined), and Arsenal in what looks more and more like a “finale” for the coronation. In the meantime, the fourth defeat suffered this season in the Premier League – only the second at home after that against Manchester United in January – will resurface the recurring debate in England on Arsenal’s ability to resist pressure in the final sprint.

Goals from the French Junior Croup (17th), his tenth in the Premier League, andAlex Scott (74th), brought down the Gunners and their center forward Viktor Gyökereswho equalized from the penalty spot in the meantime (35th). Leandro Trossard came into play in the second period (54th).
