Manchester City started their Premier League season in surprising fashion, suffering defeats in Matchdays 2 and 3 against Tottenham and Brighton, before recovering with a 3-0 victory in the Manchester derby.
The Citizens then shared the points with Arsenal (1-1) during the 4th day, before returning to victory against Burnley, Brentford and Everton. However, they stumbled again as they lost to Aston Villa.
The Citizens then alternate between the good and the less good: they dominate Bournemouth and Liverpool, but lose against Newcastle.
Manchester City even had a catastrophic start to 2026, going four games without a win in the Premier League.
The Citizens then shared points with Sunderland, Chelsea and Brighton, before losing to United. They then recovered by beating Wolverhampton 2-0 then snatching a 2-2 draw against Tottenham.
The Citizens also conceded four points while sharing the spoils with Nottingham Forest and West Ham.
Despite these numerous missteps, Pep Guardiola’s team was able to recover at the crucial moment to return to the race for the Premier League title.
