Winner in Portugal a week ago, Arsenal timidly validated their qualification for the semi-final of the Champions League by hanging Sporting against the Emirates. The Gunners will face Atlético de Madrid.
In difficulty in the Premier League, Arsenal approached this match against Sporting with low confidence. Beaten by Bournemouth on Saturday in the championship, the Gunners did not put on a show. Mikel Arteta’s team even got very scared in the 43rd minute of play when Geny Catamo missed a big chance, seeing his shot fail a few centimeters from the post.
