1. Un Cherki XXL
The Frenchman was the most prominent player in the first half. He knew how to make the right moves at the right times. After a first attempt blocked then repelled by Raya’s post in the 4th minute, Rayan Cherki distinguished himself in the most beautiful way by offering the Etihad public a gem of a sequence of which he alone has the secret to unlock the Manchester City score (1-0 in the 16th minute).
2. Doku makes the Gunners dizzy
The Belgian winger was fantastic. Facing a struggling London defense, he showed off his percussion skills and succeeded on several occasions in unbalancing the back four. The return of their captain Martin Odegaard was expected to provide some help to the Gunners, but City were stronger on Sunday. The three in the middle couldn’t find the ones in front. Manhandled by the accuracy of opposing transmissions, they were quite simply invisible in this meeting. Martin Zubimendi will also give way to Viktor Gyokeres in the 84th. Declan Rice did not dictate his game as he is capable of.
