The ranking of the 3rd stage

On the eve of the queen stage of this Tour of the Alps, the peloton had to battle it out between Laces and Arco. The runners had to negotiate 3800 meters of elevation gain throughout the 174.5 km race. Considered the favorite, the Briton Tom Pidcock raised his arms at the end of a massive sprint. The Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team rider confirms that his injury which forced him to retire from the Tour of Catalonia is behind him. He finished ahead of the Italian Tommaso Dati, winner on Tuesday, and the Colombian Egan Bernal.

Note that the race was neutralized for several minutes due to a massive fall from the start. Sam Oomen and Darren Rafferty then attempted a breakaway and had a lead of up to two minutes but were caught just 4 kilometers from the line.

Pellizarri remains leader

The Italian from Red Bull – Bora Hansgrohe maintains 4 seconds at the head of the general classification at the end of the 3rd stage. But he is closely followed by the INEOS Grenadiers, Thymen Arensman (4′) and Egan Bernal (6′). Thursday’s stage should turn everything upside down. The Frenchman Mathys Rondel (Tudor) is 6th overall.
