La Flèche Wallonne: The final ranking

On Wednesday, the Flèche Wallonne gave us the opportunity to meet Paul Seixas Decathlon CMA CGM, announced among the favorites. Despite a fall and a bleeding elbow, the 19-year-old prodigy was able to arrive in the last meters accompanied by three teammates. The punchers were there in the final sprint and it was the French phenomenon who won thanks to an exceptional last climb. He won his first classic, in Belgium, ahead of Mauro Schmid (Team Jayco AlUla) and Ben Tulett (Visma Lease a Bike).

Paul Seixas, roi de Huy

Considered the “Wemby of cycling”, the Lyonnais became the youngest winner of the Flèche Wallonne. Before Liège-Bastogne-Liège on Sunday (against Pogacar and Evenepoel in particular), Paul Seixas discovered the Mur de Huy (between 10 and 26%) in competition, and he has already shown himself to be the best, with mastery and talent, to finish five meters ahead of his competitors. After a gradual acceleration, then a powerful dancing start, he left everyone there.

He is the 8th Frenchman to win this event. There were also 5 Tricolores in the Top 10 at the finish. Paul Seixas succeeds a certain Tadej Pogacar, before the duel which will oppose them on Sunday.
