Ajax currently faces competition from two other clubs to secure the services of Dani Ceballos.
Fabrizio Romano reported this on Thursday evening, after the Spanish media had already mentioned the interest of the Amsterdam club. The Real Madrid midfielder has also made his decision.
Marseille were very close to recruiting Ceballos
The transfer specialist confirms Ceballos’ imminent departure from Real Madrid. The 29-year-old Spaniard is attracting strong interest from Ajax and two other clubs, according to Romano.
The exact identity of Ajax’s competitors is currently unknown. Last summer, Ceballos was close to a move to Olympique de Marseille, but he ultimately decided to stay at his dream club, Real Madrid.
A season to forget for Ceballos at Real
Ceballos’ contribution to Real Madrid this season has been minimal. The playmaker only played 22 official matches, mostly as a substitute. He was not involved in any purpose.
With Ceballos’ contract only running until mid-2027, a departure from Real Madrid this summer is indeed likely. A thirteen-time Spanish international, he previously played for Betis Sevilla and Arsenal.
