They beat the previous record, set by an Italian. In 2025, William Boffelli completed the round-trip ascent of Mont Blanc in 4 hours 43 minutes and 24 seconds. An impressive time, but it only lasted a year. On Saturday, the French Mathéo Jacquemoud and Samuel Equy took their turn attempting the challenge. Result: with a course time of 4 h 41 and 24 seconds, they improved the record held by the Italian by two minutes.
The two men carried out their adventure on skis. “It was hard,” Mathéo Jacquemoud told The Team. At one point, I even thought that I wouldn’t make it to the top in time, and that it would help Sam on the way down. Then I put the turbo on. »
“We managed to finish together”
Speaking to France 3, Samuel Equiy returned to the race: “At the top, we almost arrived together, we managed to finish together, we are very happy. We watched each other, encouraged each other. It’s a lot of emotion to arrive together at the church of Cham’ (Chamonix)! »
If you pass through the Alps this summer, you may have the opportunity to speak with one of the two champions. As our colleagues indicate, Mathéo Jacquemoud is now preparing to start his guide season.
