The ranking of the 3rd stage of the Volta

The end of the 3rd stage of the Tour of Catalonia 2026 came down to the final sprint in Vila-seca. This race, which started in Mont-roig del Camp, had a pretty crazy finish, with the fall of Remco Evenepoel 500 meters from the finish before the last roundabout, who had started with Jonas Vingegaard.

After a difficult start, the last 40 kilometers were flat and favored a massive sprint, which turned to the advantage of Dorian Godon (INEOS Grenadiers), like Monday. The French champion is leader of the general classification.

An Evenepoel – Vingegaard duel unexpected at this stage

28 kilometers from the finish, Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull – Bora – Hansgrohe) attacked. Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) took his wheel. Even though it was a transitional stage, the Belgian and the Dane put on a show. Before the last roundabout, the first fell and Vingegaard got up when the peloton came back on him because he did not want to impose himself like that. Dorian Godon went to win the stage in the sprint.
