Julian Alvarez, Arsenal plays a dirty trick on PSG

Arsenal have been informed of the existence of a clause in Julian Alvarez’s contract with Atlético Madrid which places him in a strong position to secure the services of the world champion during the summer transfer window.

Alvarez is strongly tipped to leave Atlético at the end of the season. The 26-year-old has struggled to get back to his best under Diego Simeone in recent months, leading to long periods on the bench.

Despite this, the former Manchester City striker still has an estimated market value of €129 million and is attracting interest from Arsenal, Barca and PSG.

Julian Alvarez’s “unbelievable” clause

Arsenal are in a strong position to sign the Argentine thanks to what Fichajes calls an “incredible clause” in his current contract.

While Alvarez is FC Barcelona’s top priority to replace Robert Lewandowski, who will leave the Camp Nou when his contract expires at the end of the season, his contract with Atlético Madrid includes a release clause of 500 million euros.

A release clause of 500 million euros.

This situation benefits Arsenal because, on the transfer market, the Catalan club is in a much better position to negotiate the transfer of Alvarez. Barça is also struggling to raise the 30 million euros necessary to buy back Marcus Rashford’s loan from Manchester United.

Although the Catalans are understandably willing to invest a larger portion of their budget in recruiting Alvarez, who would be a key player in contrast to mere substitute Rashford, the reality at Camp Nou is that they will struggle to compete for stars as expensive as the South American.
