Italy has been waiting for this for twelve years! More than a decade during which the Transalpines have not seen their national team at the Football World Cup. After a chaotic qualifying phase, the Italians only have one step left to climb, this Tuesday evening against Bosnia, to secure their ticket for Canada, the United States and Mexico this summer.
To maximize their chances, the Italians are ready to do anything. And in particular to use all possible stratagems to spy on their evening opponent. In any case, these are the accusations of the Bosnian Federation which believes that an Italian soldier was caught filming with his phone the training behind closed doors of Edin Dzeko and his friends.
Fake spy, real soldier?
According to the media Sport Sportthis man, dressed in a military uniform, would belong to Eufor (European Union force). He would have filmed a good part of the Bosnians’ training, after the regular quarter of an hour open to the media at the Butmir training center, in the Sarajevo region.
Security officers eventually intervened and removed Italian Agent 007 from the area. The Bosnian Federation is reportedly considering filing a complaint against Eufor. According to the Corriere dello Sportwhich cites Italian Defense sources, the suspect would not really be a spy, but a real curious soldier who was there just because of the proximity to the base where he was assigned.
