Wednesday afternoon, the 107th edition of Milan-Turin turned to the advantage of the Briton Tom Pidcock, who raised his arms after the ascent of Superga. He won this Italian semi-classic, created in 1876, belonging to the UCI Europe Tour (category 1.HC) and considered the oldest road cycling race. He is ahead of the Norwegian Tobias Halland Johannessen (Uno-X Mobility) and the Slovenian Primož Roglič (Red Bull BORA Hansgrohe). It sends a strong message before Milan-Sanremo on Saturday.
Pidcock hits the perfect shot 600m from the finish
Adrien Boichis (Red Bull – BORA) took a 15-second lead at the head of the race, before the rise of Superga, but he quickly cracked in the face of attacks from Primoz Roglic, Jefferson Cepeda, Tom Pidcock and others. The Briton managed to overtake everyone 600 meters from the finish with a lightning acceleration. He succeeds the Mexican Isaac del Toro, winner in 2025.
