Come on, I’ll leave it to you
We’ll see you later for our good old Liguain and the duel between OL and Lorient. Kisses everyone
Does Tadej Pogaçar have the strength? Well no
“I have no regrets. I did my best,” declared the double world champion at a press conference after a race of crazy intensity which he lost in the sprint to the Belgian with whom he had isolated himself 53 kilometers from the finish.
Penalized by three punctures, the first 120 km from the goal, the Slovenian said he “spent a lot of energy to get back to the leading group before Arenberg”.
Once alone with Van Aert, he tried to take down the Belgian several times, but never succeeded. “I quickly realized that it was going to be impossible to let Wout go on the cobbles and beat him in the sprint. On the velodrome, the legs were like spaghetti,” he added, insisting that Van Aert deserved his victory.
“He knew how to come back every time after experiencing so much bad luck. He never gave up and he is a hero for all children,” underlined Pogacar, who indicated that he would come back to try his luck, but probably not next year.
This is only the second Monument won by Van Aert
Six years after Milan San Remo, when he was promised so much at the time. But we are perhaps talking about the worst rider in the peloton, used to improbable second places, particularly in Roubaix (three times 2nd)
Van Aert’s first words on France TV
The beautiful tribute to his former teammate Michael Goolaerts who died after a fall during the race in 2018. This sums up well one of the most appreciated riders in the peloton
Did Pogaçar make a mistake by launching his sprint so late?
This is what the Slovenian will be criticized for, obviously, who must have known that he had little chance of beating van Aert in a very short effort. And at the same time with 250 terminals in his legs, no doubt he couldn’t do better. Maybe it happened at the Tree crossroads when he lost his balance for a few seconds when launching his attack.
There is a form of justice for this good Wout
And a form of logic too. Pogaçar impresses almost everyone all year round, and fortunately there is still a village of die-hards left to resist the Slovenian ogre. It’s true that the occasion was great, without Van Der Poel in the photo
Wout gave the best runner in history no chance
He tumbled onto his right side, climbed onto the pedals, and Pogarçar could do nothing. Absolutely nothing
I tell you that but Laporte buries everyone behind
We will see straight to our royal sprint in a few minutes
You shouldn’t be stupid in front of you
Well they are big boys, I think they can manage the 25 seconds ahead of the pack while preparing for their duel on the velodrome
I learned thanks to Alex Pasteur that Sébastien Turgot is the last Frenchman to be on the podium in Roubaix
Christophe Laporte can put an end to 14 years of drought if he manages the chasing group in a sprint, but there is still a way to go
Pogaçar must clear his head
He will not have 36 opportunities like this to slam the last big race that is missing from his record. But Van Aert can say the same thing after so much bad luck in recent seasons in Roubaix or elsewhere
WE’RE GOING TO HAVE A SPRINT
And the best? The two will have no room to observe each other, the Van der Poel group is less than 30 seconds away.
OH TADEJ WHO AVOID THE FALL OF A NOTHING!!!
Van Aert seemed to give in meter after meter but the Slovenian lost momentum by sliding off the rear wheel. Van Aert only has one kilometer to go and then we’ll see you again on the velodrome
18km:

Pogaçar awaits the Carrefour de l’Arbre, friends
It’s going to be crazy when Tadej tries to unhook him, sit on the couch and prepare the popcorn
Camphin-en-Pévèle is now
1.8km which is worth 100 at this stage of the race. Pogaçar opens the road, the close-ups are crazy when you see how it shakes in the middle of the road, you have to finish with your forearms in a state…
First moment of relative boredom this afternoon
I can’t tell you which of the two in front will raise their arms in Roubaix. I think we will have a first clue after the Carrefour de l’Arbre, if Wout is still in the wheel, he will be favorite for the sprint
