On which TV channel and at what time to watch the 1st stage?

A new week begins as the cycling season is in full swing. On Monday, a new Tour of the Alps is on the horizon. An unmissable spring event, it serves as ideal preparation a few weeks before the Giro. It will also take place in Austria and… in Italy.

At what time and on which channel to watch the 1st stage of the 2026 Tour of the Alps

The race will be broadcast on Monday April 20, 2026, from 1:35 p.m., on the L’Équipe channel, Eurosport 2 and HBO Max.

On a hilly route, the 1st stage will offer 1,800 meters of elevation gain, with a double loop through the Mieminger Plateau (6.2 km at 3.7%) and the Götzens climb (4 km at 6.9%). The latter, which is 21 kilometers from the finish, should create the first significant gaps in this Tour of the Alps. The arrival will take place in the valley, on flat ground.

The favorites of the stage

Renowned as short and intense, this first stage of the Tour des Alpes should see a battle between favorites. The Italian Giulio Pellizzari (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) but also the title holder, the Australian Michael Storer (Tudor), should play the leading roles. Obviously, the Briton Tom Pidcock (Pinarello Q36.5) is eagerly awaited after missing the Amstel Gold Race. He will try to ideally prepare Liège-Bastogne-Liège. The Colombian Egan Bernal (INEOS Grenadiers) and the Canadian Derek Gee-West (Lidl-Trek) will also want to do well on this stage in order to get into the fray on the right foot.
