Eduardo Camavinga aside, could Kylian Mbappé be largely responsible for Real Madrid’s drought in the Champions League? The theory is trendy on the networks, but does not obtain the support of Alvaro Arbeloa. The Merengue coach defended the French international striker’s record during the double confrontation lost by Real against Bayern Munich in the quarter-final of the competition.
“I have nothing to reproach Kylian. He lived up to his status, scoring a goal in every game while being a constant threat to the opposition defense. He helped us a lot in transition. He showed great sacrifice in defense, he worked a lot. I am really satisfied with his performance in this confrontation,” Arbeloa said at a press conference. “Mbappé has been a constant danger for Bayern Munich, and that’s the Kylian Mbappé we want to see every day,” he added.
Arbeloa knows her destiny is not in her hands
Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa, asked about the consequences of this failed season, estimated that the White House “did not need a big revolution” to get back to winning titles next season.
He also refused to talk about his future, saying he was only focused on Tuesday’s match against Alavés. “We have seven games left, and we have to win them all,” he said, conceding that his future was, in any case, not in his hands.
