Paris Saint-Germain will have to do without Vitinha against FC Nantes this Wednesday. For the rest, we will have to wait. Limping out in the 38th minute during Paris’ defeat against Olympique Lyonnais after a poor reception following an aerial duel with Endrick, the Portuguese international suffered from “inflammation of the right heel”, PSG said on Monday afternoon.
Vitinha “will remain in care for the next few days” and “a new assessment will be carried out at the end of the week” added the club. His presence next Tuesday in the Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes is currently uncertain, but the Parisian playing master’s injury seems at first glance less serious than what the supporters feared when he left the field on Sunday evening.
Most used player behind Warren Zaire-Emery
With 3,658 minutes played this season, Vitinha is the 2nd most used player by Luis Enrique in 2025-2026, just behind Warren Zaire-Emery. The Spaniard would obviously be annoyed not to be able to count on his maestro whose profile is as unique as it is valuable to maintain control of the midfield, especially against a team as dangerous as Bayern Munich.
