The young hacker “HexDex” imprisoned after a wave of hacks

“HexDex”, the young hacker suspected of being behind an avalanche of hacks of sports federation and national education sites, was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention this Thursday.

The suspect, born in August 2004, was arrested on Wednesday in Vendée, “even as he was preparing to publish other data” that had been hacked and “recognized the use of this pseudonym”, revealed the public prosecutor. The Paris prosecutor’s office’s anti-cybercrime section links it to around a hundred reports concerning website hacking since December 19, 2025.

Among the six offenses which motivate his indictment, is “obstruction of the operation of an automated processing system of personal data implemented by the State”, according to the prosecution.

His Darkforum account was seized

It was under the alias “HexDex” that he claimed his catches and transferred them to platforms like BreachForum or Darkforum, specializing in the resale of stolen data. His account on Darkforum “was seized, as well as his computer equipment, which must be exploited,” the prosecution also indicated.

Among its targets, we find in particular a multitude of French sports federations, such as those of sailing, athletics, motorsport, gymnastics, skiing, rugby league, aikido, university sport, mountain and climbing or even disabled sports. There are also sensitive servers such as the SIA (Weapons Information System) listing individuals who own weapons.
