Threats rain between Iran and the United States before the end of the truce
As the end of the ceasefire approaches – now set for “Wednesday evening, Washington time”, according to Donald Trump – the tone continues to rise between the United States and Iran. The regime in place in Tehran and the American president made a series of threats on Monday, raising fears of a new conflagration in the region. The truce between the belligerents is more than ever hanging by a thread and new negotiations in Pakistan remain particularly uncertain for the moment.

Opening of the trial for the murder of Agnès Lassalle
It was a murder that was particularly shocking. From this Tuesday, the Pyrénées-Atlantiques Assize Court will judge the young man who killed Agnès Lassalle, a Spanish teacher stabbed in class on February 22, 2023. Aged 16 at the time of the facts, the accused presents a fragile psychological profile. The psychiatric assessments concerning him are dissonant and his lawyer believes that the question of his “discernment will be at the heart of the debates”.

At only 22 years old, Wembanyama voted best defender of the NBA season
Victor Wembanyama is firmly at the top of the NBA. Two years after Frenchman Rudy Gobert, the San Antonio Spurs pivot won the trophy for best defender of the season on Monday, becoming at 22 the youngest player to win the statuette. All that remains for him is to win the ultra-coveted title of MVP. The suspense builds between the three finalists: “Wemby” of course, the Canadian outgoing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Thunder), and the Serbian Nikola Jokic (Nuggets), already three times awarded (2021, 2022, 2024).
