Friday, while a stage for climbers was scheduled for Friday on the Tour of Catalonia 2026, it was ultimately the sprinters who were in the best position due to the change in the finish (strong winds at the summit). It was the British sprinter Ethan Vernon (NSN Pro) who won in the Camprodon wind, ahead of the leader of the general classification, the Frenchman Dorian Godon (INEOS Grenadiers), and his compatriot Tom Pidcock (Pinarello-Q36.5).

In four stages, the Frenchman from Ineos Grenadiers finished 2nd, 4th and won two stages in four races since Monday. Favored by the shortening of this stage on Friday, he was able to take advantage of it to prolong the pleasure and retain his leader’s jersey brilliantly.

The 5th stage tomorrow will be judged at the summit of La Molina/Coll de Pal, after 155km in the mountains. You will have to climb Fumanya (5.5km at 8.9%) and the final climb will be at Coll de Pal, with 16.5km at 7.2%. The battle for the leader’s jersey promises to be tough.
