The arrival in Barcelona allowed Jonas Vingegaard (Visma Lease a Bike) to win the 2026 Tour of Catalonia at the end of the 7th stage. The Dane won on the Montjuïc hill despite his 33rd place on Sunday. He achieved the same time as the leaders of the day (2h06’44”).
A Frenchman 2nd in the stage, another 2nd overall
After more than two hours of racing and the seven ascents of the Montjuic hill, the French champion Dorian Godon was beaten on the line by the Australian Brady Gilmore (NSN), on the downhill slipstream. This is his first World Tour victory. Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull – Bora – Hansgrohe) completes the podium. Frenchman Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) finished 2nd in the general classification, ahead of Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull – Bora – Hansgrohe).
