Marco Pantani’s mother may receive a call in the coming weeks. While she had lent her son’s earring during the Olympic Games to Émilien Jacquelin, the biathlete will imitate his idol, moving from biathlon shooting ranges to cycling. The biathlete will indeed join the Decathlon-CMA CGM team.
The structure where Paul Seixas operates will welcome Émilien Jacquelin, who will have an intern contract, for a period of six months in the development team. This move on two wheels changes nothing for the future of the double Olympic medalist at Milan-Cortina on the snow. Émilien Jacquelin should continue to thrill us in biathlon.
“It’s a project that has been growing in the back of my mind. If the 2030 Winter Games in France remain a goal, today I have this desire to discover something else and to practice cycling at a high level,” declared the 30-year-old skier from Villard-de-Lans.
“I have always cycled, whether in my youth or during my physical preparation, but every day will now be a new challenge. I want to honor the trust of the team and live this childhood dream with humility,” he continued, quoted in the press release. “Émilien Jacquelin, it’s panache, everything for the attack! Can’t wait to see what it will look like on a bike,” the French team commented on Instagram to present its new recruit.
