Ice skating is not for everyone. Reach Olympic level, let alone. But then doing a figure skating gala, during the world championships, while doing “anything”, and succeeding in making the performance brilliant, that’s something powerful. This is what we managed to do Olivia Smart and Tim Dieck, ice dance specialists, like Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry, this Sunday.
On the occasion of the World Cup gala in Prague, the Spaniards, as during the Olympic Games gala, wore a special outfit: Spanish football team jersey, shorts and high socks… We almost thought we were at the Santiago Bernabeu. The two skaters performed on songs that speak to football fans, such as Thubthumping of Chumbawamba, which should bring back good memories to video game fans Fifa 98.
Olivia Smart and Tim Dieck even pushed the analogy by putting a cage on the ice and taking turns shooting a ball (yes, yes, still with skates). They concluded their performance by signing small footballs and sending them into the stands to treat the Czech public one last time.
