Like every year, the Grand Prix Miguel Indurain offers us a race that promises to be spectacular, with 3,500 meters of altitude difference. This edition is no exception to the rule and this Saturday, April 4, a loop around the town of Estella-Lizarra (Spain) will pit runners from 19 teams against each other. Last year, it was the Belgian Thibau Nys who won.
At what time and on which channel to follow the GP Miguel Indurain 2026
The race will start on Saturday April 4, 2026, at 12:20 p.m. in Estella-Lizarra. Arrival is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. The broadcast is scheduled from 3:30 p.m. on Eurosport 2 and HBO Max.
Scaroni… or a Frenchman?
Several names are mentioned when we try to know the favorite of the event. We think of the Italian Christian Scaroni obviously, but men like Harold Tejada and Alex Aranburu should also have their say.
On the French side, TotalEnergies runner Mattéo Vercher and Astana climber Clément Champoussin are our best chances of victory at the end of the 200 km in Navarre. The punchers-climbers should show their advantage.
The profile of GP Miguel Indurain
With a cumulative elevation gain of around 3,500 meters, punchers and climbers will have to manage many short climbs.
The Alto de Guirguillano (2.8 km at 5.7%), the Alto de Lezáun (3.9 km at 5.5%) and the Alto d’Eraul (3.9 km at 5.2%), where fatal attacks are often placed, await the runners at the finish.
The Alto d’Ibarra will have to be climbed four times (600 meters at more than 10% average). Then there will only be 1.5 kilometers left towards the finish.
