In life, everything is a question of perspective. For example, seeing Paul Seixas join Tadej Pogacar’s UAE Emirates-XRG team would be an absolute nightmare in the eyes of every cycling lover. But for the manager of the Emirati team, Mauro Gianetti, it is quite the opposite. The idea of cohabitation between the best rider in the world and the greatest young talent in the peloton would be “more than a dream”, as he declared in an interview with Cyclism’Actu.
“It’s extraordinary to see a runner with such crystalline talent. His start to the season is impressive, physically but also in character. He is a new phenomenon, like Tadej, Van der Poel, Evenepoel or Vingegaard. Plus, he’s French. Of course, all the teams watch what he does. But he will decide. Today he is in a very good team. In any case, hats off to him. What he did on Strade Bianche was extraordinary. »
A beautiful month of April in perspective for Paul Seixas
The CMA-CGM Decathlon runner finished 2nd in the Italian race behind the untouchable Slovenian, notably by wringing out his lieutenant Isaac Del Toro, whom he let go on the final climb in Siena.
The next race on the young Frenchman’s program will be the Tour of the Basque Country, at the beginning of April. He will then continue with the Ardennes (Flèche wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège).
